Young talented designers on the future of home diagnostics
Nikoleta Györe Čeligová
I contacted Nikoleta initially based on an article in a local product design magazine, where she won a prize as the “best product design of the year”. It is always difficult to find talented individuals, and more so if they already work on their own projects or collaborate with other customers.
I asked if she could document the workflow on a design of a portable, standalone glucometer. Since the beginning, Nikoleta’s friendly, open and professional communication led the pace and direction to initial sketches. Our team was pleasantly surprised by her innovative and playful introduction of simple geometrical shapes and wordplay into an otherwise serious domain of point of care diagnostics.
Her resulting design included the testing device, the carrying container for test strips and a protective cover, all in a very simple and elegant design.
Nikoleta started her career in Slovakia as a successful winner of the National Prize for Design. She loves to work on industrial product designs for copmanies. In her own words, she likes the multiplicity of views when a new product or interior has to emerge from a collaboration. She stays open to any cooperation between her design studio and individuals or companies with vision.
Her new products include a game for vision impaired children and adults.
You can ask Nikoleta about bringing and combining playful design with professional and award winning attitude.
Juraj Kadlec
Juraj is one of a few, talented professionals in the two fields of engineering and product design. He always carried out his ideas about prototypes with speed, care and precision, looking at the small details of manufacturability. Due to his experience as a mechanical engineer, this work was conceptually focusing on easy injection molding and low cost. Nonetheless, the utility of a keychain accessory would fit our goal of accessible and easy, everywhere rugged glucometer.
Juraj devotes his time teaching historic sword fight lessons to kids and reenacting battles. A true knight of hearts!
His recent work includes an electric diving compressor buoy, which wins prizes internationally for utility, design and safety.
Stanislav Sabo
Stanislav is a talented designer coming from the field of mobility. In the past he worked for Skoda car design and created his unique style and character.
I contacted Stanislav through the recommendation of our fellow designers, with the goal of obtaining concept on a diagnostic blood glucose measurement device, in a combination with a multipurpose ph meter.
Stanislav provided excellent designs beyond expectation. His work was professional and quick, resulting in a visually pleasing and unified language of aesthetics, symmetry and clean shapes. I especially appreciate the minimalistic lines resulting in much needed cleanability of the final prototype.
He works in Prague as a product designer.

Viktor Javorek
Minimalistic concept with playful colored world. Viktor has proposed several designs from the scratch, playing and exploring the design space in several directions. His idea was to accesorize a diagnostic device into something personal, into a symbol of hope, beauty and serenity. His concept used colors, metals, plastic and resulted in jewelery like forms, which originated in the electronics world.
He is a finalist of the national prize for design, working on furniture, electronics, transport and interior elements. Contact him if you like his work, I strongly recommend his easy and friendly nature.
